Downers Grove Kitchen Remodel            2017

An existing ranch home in the downtown area of Downers Grove, this improvement relocated the existing kitchen completely to what was originally the dining room and re-purposed the old kitchen space as a mudroom / laundry area.  Numerous walls were removed in kitchen and dining to combine those two uses and relocate an interior wall to separate the laundry area.  The existing ceiling was completely removed to allow for installation of a vaulted ceiling with an eco-friendly and cost effective solar powered operable skylight.  This skylight allows for convective cooling in the warmer months while also providing natural light to the newly opened space.  A custom beverage center was also added in the dining area to compliment the new kitchen improvements.  The peninsula cabinetry was utilized as an accent against the dove white kitchen cabinets. 
 

Existing hardwood flooring was patched where old walls were removed and the entire floor system sanded and restained to seamlessly maintain the look and feel of the original oak flooring.
